Collaborative efforts and ideas related to defense were the topics of discussion at the meeting between the Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto and the United States Ambassador to ASEAN Yohanes Abraham, Thursday (14/3/2024) in the Minister of Defense’s office, Jakarta.
On that occasion, Defense Minister Prabowo expressed his thanks to the United States (US) Ambassador to ASEAN for his visit to the Ministry of Defense.
One of the discussions in this meeting was discussing collaborative efforts at the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts’ Working Group on Military Medicine (EWG on MM), as well as ideas related to defense.
“I am confident that continued support from each other will make a major contribution in strengthening our ties and cooperation under the ADMM and ADMM-Plus framework in the future,” said the Minister of Defense.
As is known, Indonesia is the country coordinator for ASEAN-US relations until mid-2024, so Indonesia’s support for the proposal to co-host the Gender Advisor Workshop is highly expected by the US.
Closing the meeting, the Minister of Defense again expressed his appreciation for America’s involvement and contribution in maintaining regional peace, prosperity and security.
